A Breaker Block is an Order Block that has been violated — price breaks through the OB rather than bouncing. When this happens, the OB flips: a bullish OB becomes a bearish Breaker (resistance), and a bearish OB becomes a bullish Breaker (support). Breakers are considered stronger than regular OBs because the break provides additional confirmation of directional momentum.
How to Trade Breaker
Identify a bullish OB that price later breaks below with conviction. Mark the OB range as a bearish Breaker. When price retraces back into that zone, it now acts as resistance. Look for bearish entry signals (rejection wicks, bearish engulfing) within the Breaker zone. Stop loss goes above the top of the Breaker. Breakers are most powerful on H1 and above timeframes.
Real Example — XAUUSD
Example: A bullish OB at 3280–3290 held price twice. Then price breaks below 3280 aggressively with a large bearish candle. That OB is now a Bearish Breaker at 3280–3290. If price retraces back to that zone, expect rejection downward. Enter short from 3287 with SL above 3292.
